We are incredibly proud to announce that Windhill21 has won two giant pencil-shaped recycling bins to help keep our school grounds clean and green!

These eye-catching new bins were the grand prize in a competition held across East Herts as part of this year’s Great Big School Clean. This initiative, run by Keep Britain Tidy, encourages students and teachers to take pride in their local community by getting stuck in with litter picking.

How We Won

Our victory was thanks to the hard work of our 12 Global Goals Champions. Led by Mrs Clark, the team rolled up their sleeves and headed out between March 13th and 29th, successfully collecting an impressive 11 bags of rubbish from around our area.

Putting the Prizes to Use

We took delivery of the bins this week, and our Champions couldn't wait to get them set up. You'll spot these giant pencils in high-litter areas around the school, making it easier than ever for everyone to separate their waste and recycle more effectively.

A huge well done to our dedicated Champions for their commitment to looking after our environment. Let’s keep up the great work and make sure those new bins stay busy!
