SEPTEMBER 2026 INTAKE 

Windhill21 offers a single intake into the Nursery, following a child’s third birthday.  For entry in September 2026, children must be born between 1^st September 2022 and 31^st August 2023.

Session Options

We offer the following session options:-

• Morning sessions: 8:30am to 11:30am
• Afternoon sessions: 12:30pm to 3:30pm
• All day sessions: 8:30am to 3:30pm

All children are required to attend a minimum of 5 morning or 5 afternoon sessions per week which are fully funded through the 15-hour Nursery funding.  This funding is available to all children.

For parents/carers requiring all-day places, Windhill21 offers a flexible approach.  Children must attend 5 morning or 5 afternoon sessions and parents/carers can add additional sessions.  These additional sessions can be paid for or if parents/carers are eligible for childcare support funding (for working parents) this can be used to cover the additional sessions.

If parents/carers require additional sessions but are not eligible for childcare support funding, the cost is currently £24 per session (reviewed annually).

Parents will receive an advance invoice at the start of each term for any paid sessions.

Application Process and Timeline

Windhill21 will use the following timeline for processing applications:

Monday 12th January 2026	Applications open to apply for a place at Windhill21 Nursery
Friday 6th March 2026	Applications close and deadline for submitting supporting evidence (eg EHCP or Child Looked After documentation)
Monday 9th March 2026	Late applications open
Monday 16th March 2026	Windhill21 will offer places directly to parents by email.  (Email will be from admissions@windhill.herts.sch.uk if you have not received an email, please check your junk folder)
Friday 24th April 2026	Deadline for parents to accept offer for Windhill21 Nursery

Please be aware that late applications will not be processed until after the deadline for parents to accept allocations on 24^th April 2026.

The application form will be published here on Monday 13^th January 2026.

Allocation of Places and Funding

Allocation of a Nursery place is strictly subject to the applicant’s guarantee that the first 15 hours of free childcare funding will be directed to this school.  This guarantee should be confirmed on the Nursery Parent Declaration Form.  Submitting an application does not guarantee a place.

In the event of more applications than available places, the Governing Body will maintain a continuing interest list (waiting list).  Applications received after the deadline will also be placed on this waiting list.  If a place becomes available, it will be offered to the child who best meets the published admission rules at the earliest opportunity.
