SEPTEMBER 2025 INTAKE 

Windhill21 has one intake into the Nursery which is the September following a child’s third birthday. Entry into the Nursery in September 2025 will be for those children born between 1st September 2021 to 31^st August 2022.

We offer morning, afternoon or all day sessions.  The session times are:-

Morning - 8.30am until 11.30am (15 hours per week)

Afternoon - 12.30pm until 3.30pm (15 hours per week)

All day – 8.30am to 3.30pm (35 hours per week)

All children are expected to attend a minimum of 5 morning or 5 afternoon sessions per week.  This is covered by the free 15 hours Nursery funding which all children are entitled to.

In addition, Windhill21 offer a flexible approach which enables parents to apply for a limited number of all-day places on a paid basis.  The first 15 hours of the all day sessions is covered by the 15 hour Nursery funding.  Any additional hours are either covered by 30 hour funding (for working parents only) or charged at a cost of £5.50 per hour.

Parents will be invoiced, in advance, at the beginning of each half term for any paid sessions, and if 30-hour funding is used, for any additional hours not covered by the funding. Payment will be required at the start of each half term and no refunds will be made for sessions when your child is absent.

Windhill21 will use the following timeline for processing applications:

To be confirmed	Applications open to apply for a place at Windhill21 Nursery
To be confirmed	The applications system for Windhill21 Nursery closes Deadline for submitting supporting evidence (eg EHCP or Child Looked After).
To be confirmed	Late applications open
To be confirmed	Windhill21 will offer places directly to parents by email.  (Email will be from admissions@windhill.herts.sch.uk if you have not received an email, please check your junk folder)

To apply for a place at our Nursery in September 2025, please complete the form below (this form will only work when applications are open):

To save your response, only click on the 'Save my response' box if you have a Microsoft account.  If you do not have a Microsoft Account, then click the three dots in the top right corner of the submission page and then click print response and then select Microsoft Print to PDF as the printer and then in the save dialogue box, select where you wish to save the response and name the file and click Save.

Allocation of a Nursery place is strictly subject to the applicant’s guarantee that the first 15 hours of free childcare funding will be directed to this school.  This guarantee should be made on the Nursery Parent Declaration Form which will be in your welcome pack. 

In the event of more applications than available places the Governing Body will maintain a continuing interest list (waiting list). These and late applications will go onto this list in a position determined by the criteria.  If a place becomes available in the school, it will be offered to the child that best meets the published admission rules at the earliest possible opportunity.
