SEPTEMBER 2024 INTAKE 

Windhill21 has one intake into the Nursery which is the September following a child’s third birthday. Entry into the Nursery in September 2024 will be for those children born between 1st September 2020 to 31^st August 2021.

We offer morning, afternoon or all day sessions.  The session times are:-

Morning - 8.30am until 11.30am (15 hours per week)

Afternoon - 12.30pm until 3.30pm (15 hours per week)

All day – 8.30am to 3.30pm (35 hours per week)

All children are expected to attend a minimum of 5 morning or 5 afternoon sessions per week.  This is covered by the free 15 hours Nursery funding which all children are entitled to.

In addition, Windhill21 offer a flexible approach which enables parents to apply for a limited number of all-day places on a paid basis.  The first 15 hours of the all day sessions is covered by the 15 hour Nursery funding.  Any additional hours are either covered by 30 hour funding (for working parents only) or charged at a cost of £5.50 per hour.

Parents will be invoiced, in advance, at the beginning of each half term for any paid sessions, and if 30-hour funding is used, for any additional hours not covered by the funding.

Nursery Admissions Policy 2024 - 2025

Windhill21 will use the following timeline for processing applications:

Monday 15th January 2024	Applications open to apply for a place at Windhill21 Nursery
Friday 8th March 2024	The applications system for Windhill21 Nursery closes Deadline for submitting supporting evidence (eg EHCP or Child Looked After).
Monday 11th March 2024	Late applications open
Monday 18th March 2024	Windhill21 will offer places directly to parents by email.  (Email will be from admissions@windhill.herts.sch.uk if you have not received an email, please check your junk folder)
Monday 22nd April 2024	Deadline for parents to accept offer for Windhill21 Nursery

To make a late application for a place at our Nursery in September 2024, you will need to complete the late application found below.  Any late applications will be processed after Monday 22^nd April 2024.  This is the deadline for parents/carers who submitted an on-time application to accept/decline an offer.

To save your response, only click on the 'Save my response' box if you have a Microsoft account.  If you do not have a Microsoft Account, then click the three dots in the top right corner of the submission page and then click print response and then select Microsoft Print to PDF as the printer and then in the save dialogue box, select where you wish to save the response and name the file and click Save.

Allocation of a Nursery place is strictly subject to the applicant’s guarantee that the first 15 hours of free childcare funding will be directed to this school.  This guarantee should be made on the Nursery Parent Declaration Form which will be in your welcome pack. 

In the event of more applications than available places the Governing Body will maintain a continuing interest list (waiting list). These and late applications will go onto this list in a position determined by the criteria.  If a place becomes available in the school, it will be offered to the child that best meets the published admission rules at the earliest possible opportunity.
